Q: What is the difference between Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture?

A: Enterprise Architecture is the practice of translating business strategy and forward-looking vision into principles and guidelines that solution architects generally adhere to in designing new solutions. While an Enterprise Architect is primarily concerned with adoption of technologies that will "tomorrow-proof" the organization, the Solution Architect is concerned with identification of the various components and technologies (approved by Enterprise Architecture) that make up a solution and the manner they will interact to ensure the business requirements are met.
